Edible Book Festival
Event Description
Kolwyck Library & Information Commons, in conjunction with the 60th anniversary of ChattState, will host the 10th Annual Edible Book Festival on Monday, October 27 from 1pm - 3pm.
October 27 is a special day to us, as it is the birthday of the first librarian of ChattState and the namesake of our library, Augusta R. Kolwyck. Mrs. Kolwyck established the library at ChattState with not only books, typewriters, and audio tapes but also games and a pot of coffee always brewing. With the spirit of student success always top of mind, Mrs. Kolwyck left a generous endowment to the library with the stipulation that all funds were to be used to support students.
To celebrate this incredible woman, we invite you to base your literary edible creation on your favorite book published in the last 60 years. We're excited to see what fantastic, literary-inspired baked creations our students, faculty, and staff can create! Attendees will vote for their favorites, and we will have guest judges for special prizes. Coffee and a birthday cake for Mrs. Kolwyck will be served, and after winners are announced, the edible creations can be devoured!
